Taking a redundant open plan shop space, Acorn designed a walk-in learning centre to the client’s specification and Building Control requirements. The design also incorporated a new DDA compliant toilet facility and new glazing in the front windows of the shops.
Acorn were chosen against two other companies as they could supply both design and a complete turnkey solution.
In parallel, dilapidation works at the existing learning centre was carried out. This included the replacement of wall and floor coverings, strip out of the kitchenette area and electrics and certification of the electrical installation.
